Donald Willis M.S.   is a culturally relevant and responsive special educator that has been teaching for LAUSD since 2001. He is an award winning teacher leader and facilitator that is a noted conference presenter infusing the arts, hip hop culture, music, and curriculum to provide engaging instructional models for students and teachers.
As a United Teachers of Los Angeles Chapter Chair, Donald has organized parents, teachers and students in actions against the assaults on public education. He currently serves as the Gay and Lesbian Issues Committee Chair that provides networking, advocacy, outreach, education and support for LGBT educators, professionals, parents and students.
As a community advocate he participates in organizations that promotes the equality and equity for the Black LGBT community. He has presented at the In the Meantime Men’s Group LMU,  and serves on the Board for the Justin/Rustin Coalition.  He has organized marches, raised funds, facilitated counseling groups, and participated in many outreach campaigns.
Donald is a creative and performing artist that blends various styles and genres of music and theater. He is a organizer facilitator, and performer of the Soulful Salon, Art Pod, ATBLA, and many other organizations . He is a featured gospel artist at the June Cobb Church of Religious Science, AGAPE, Unity Fellowship Church,  and is featured music minister at many progressive  liberation ministries.
Donald is a native of Los Angeles County and currently lives in Signal Hill, CA. He has been teaching Kick Boxing and other aerobics for 24 hour Fitness since 2003 and enjoys creative writing, music, dancing, song writing, jogging on the beach, and reading engaging media. He loves to spend time with his family, enjoys attending August Wilson plays, and is a world traveler.
